BRAZIL’S TV BANDEIRANTES PURCHASES DVCPRO P2 EQUIPMENT
LAS VEGAS, NV (April 18, 2004) – Panasonic announced today that TV Bandeirantes has purchased DVCPRO P2 series solid-state equipment for its affiliate in Rio de Janeiro, the second largest city in Brazil.
TV Bandeirantes Rio de Janeiro has bought from Panasonic Brazil the AJ-SPX800 DVCPRO P2 camcorder, the AJ-PCD10 P2 drive and related accessories. TV Bandeirantes Rio de Janeiro belongs to the TV Bandeirantes group, one of the largest in Brazil.
TV Bandeirantes Rio de Janeiro has been successfully using the DVCPRO videotape format for the last six years.
The AJ-SPX800 DVCPRO P2 camcorder begins delivering in May. The AJ-SPX800 offers the extensive benefits of solid-state memory recording and IT domain integration, elevating digital video acquisition to a new level of speed and cost efficiency.
The AJ-SPX800 combines a high-performance 2/3” 3-CCD camera with 24fps and 30fps progressive and 60 fields interlace recording in 25Mbps DVCPRO and 50Mbps DVCPRO50 format on a P2 card.
The AJ-PCD10 five-slot P2 solid-state memory drive is designed for high-speed file transfer of 25Mbps DVCPRO or 50Mbps DVCPRO50 video into nonlinear editing systems and servers. With the AJ-PCD10 internal/external drive, a user can mount five 4GB P2 cards (containing up to 80 minutes of recordings in DVCPRO) at the same time and have access to the contents on all five cards for continuous editing of recorded clips in sequence. With the AJ-PCD10, digitizing is eliminated, so that material can be accessed almost instantaneously.
