ACTIVA 3 IN SPAIN BECOMES P2 ALLIANCE PARTNER
Activa 3, the Catalan content management software developer, based in Barcelona, is joining the Panasonic P2 Alliance Partnership. Activa 3 has developed a content management system called DigitionSuite which is capable of managing P2 files and will be totally compatible with its solid state recording technology.

Welcoming the decision, Jaume Rey, General Manager for Sales and Marketing in Panasonic Broadcast Europe said, “Activa 3 has a content management system specially designed for television broadcasters, news agencies and audio-visual archives. We want to increase the range of P2 Alliance Partners so that our customers have a wide range of choice in terms of P2 compatible solutions.”

According to Activa 3, the DigitionSuite content management system is based on integrated standard and open hardware and software. Its capabilities include video ingest, video editing, complete asset management, archive and play-out. It has a fully scalable approach to implementing content management.

Customers of Digition content management include: TV3, the main television station in Catalonia where it is being used in content production and archiving; in digitising and managing the audio-visual archives of the Parlament de Catalunya (Catalan Parliament); the Forum Universal de les Cultures Barcelona 2004 and the Filmoteca de Catalunya (Catalonia’s film library).
