Panasonic Broadcast China supports the 10th National Games of People’s Republic of China
LAS VEGAS, NV (April 17, 2005) – Panasonic Broadcast Systems (China), a division of Panasonic Corporation of China announced today DVCPRO P2 series and DVCPRO 50 VTRs supports the 10th National Games of People’s Republic of China, which will be held in the golden autumn month of October in the ancient capital—Nanjing. This prosperous athletic event is jointly sponsored by the General Administration of Sport and the Jiangsu Province Government. Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation will be the live broadcast station for the Games. According to the instructions of the Chinese Central Government, the 10th National Games is to be considered the “Big Exercise” for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. For that, Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation attaches great importance to the Games.

Panasonic has always been one of the main partners of the Olympic Games (TOP 6) and supports the 10th National Games with great enthusiasm. Because of the high reliability of PANASONIC DVCPRO as well as its outstanding performance in sports live broadcasting, Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation has decided to use DVCPRO P2 and DVCPRO 50 for the 10th National Games, and has ordered about 100 sets of DVCPRO P2 and DVCPRO 50M equipment in total, mainly for the video shooting and program production during the 10th National Games. Through this purchase, Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation has bought more than 600 products from the Panasonic DVCPRO series.

The ceremony for the signing of the purchase contract of Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation and Panasonic for the 10th National Games was held at the CCBN 2005 Publicity Center on March 22nd. The signing ceremony was attended by Vice President Zhang Jianping, Vice General Engineer Xiao Liang and Director Gu Jianguo of Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, General Manager Kenichi Takagi and Sales Department General Manager Cai Weiqing of Panasonic Broadcast Systems (China), and Councilor Tatsushi Bannai, Manager Shigeki Sumitani and Assistant Manager Yasushi Tsubakihara of Matsushita Electric Industrial, Co. Ltd. After the ceremony, Vice President Zhang Jianping looked back at the positive long-term cooperation with Panasonic, highly praised Panasonic’s products and services, and hoped that Panasonic would continue to develop and manufacture products with the newest technologies. In the speech of Kenichi Takagi, he pointed out that the P2 was revolutionary and would awaken new workflow. He said that the cooperation with Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation was greatly valued, and would continue to make available the newest and best products into the future.
