| PANASONIC INTRODUCES LONG PLAY DVCPRO50 STUDIO VTR AT IBC |
| At IBC, Panasonic introduced the new DVCPRO50 Studio VTR AJ-SD965, which is targeted at archive, long record applications and as a programme delivery format. With Panasonic's new DVCPRO XL cassette, the VTR can record over two hours in DVCPRO50 and over four hours in DVCPRO. This compact 4RU-size VTR records 252 minutes of DVCPRO and 126 minutes of DVCPRO50 using the new DVCPRO XL cassette as well as being compatible with the L/M cassette. The AJ-SD956 features auto-format playback detection for seamless playback of DVCAM? and DV format cassettes (an adaptor is required for Mini-DV format cassette playback).
