RTV38 strengthens technology base with P2

RTV38 one of the most important local broadcasters in Italy, based near Florence, has chosen Panasonic’s P2 technology for acquisition and direct editing in real time.
“We decided to buy Panasonic P2 products” said Fabrizio Bocci, IT Manager for RTV38 “because DVCPRO P2 format is an innovative technology that we believe will be the future”. He added, “not uploading from tapes any longer and not having moving parts provides us with an extremely reliable solution.”

Founded in 1975, RTV38 is one of the first local broadcasters to grow into being a regional broacaster, under the ownership of Boris Mugnai.

RTV38 will use P2 products especially for the acquisition and video transmission of news and sport programs. The equipment bought by RTV38 includes 3 camcorders AJ-SPX800, 5 drivers AJ-PCD10 and a studio recorder AJ-SPD850.

This sale has been made through Panasonic dealer Professional Show, based in Milan. Enrico Beoni, General Manager of Professional Show in Milano, remarks: “Panasonic P2 products dramatically reduces the costs and provide extreme reliability. We think that Panasonic P2 products are the state of art digital technology”.

Salvatore Palillo said “We believe that we will generate a high demand for P2 products in Italy and RTV38 is important being the first regional broadcaster to select P2.”
