Panasonic Parades Pioneering Broadcast Solutions

At the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show 2019, Panasonic Corporation showcases diverse video solutions ranging from broadcast and video production solutions to sports video solutions for stadiums. At its booth, the company highlights its solutions into seven areas, namely Smart Studio Corner, PTZ Live Corner, Live Presentation Corner, Live Camera Corner, Film and Program Production Corner, Hands-on Corner, and P2 Corner.
Industry-Leading Technologies
Smart Studio Corner will feature next-generation studio subsystems that realize higher efficiency and labor-saving features. These include automated tracking of performers using 8K ROI + BlackTrax*1 real-time tracking system; presentation of augmented reality (AR) using AW-UE150W/K + Tecnopoint S.r.l*2 ’s robotics and Brainstorm*3 ’s InfinitySet virtual set and augmented reality solution; and the construction of IP network studio using Live Production Suite (LPS), an MoIP system, which Panasonic proposes.
PTZ Live Corner lets NAB Show 2019 visitors to experience efficient live distribution system using Panasonic’s remote camera lineup, Network Device Interface (NDI) and software app. Furthermore, Panasonic also outlines the history of remote camera systems, which the company has developed with industry-leading innovative technologies exactly 10 years ago this year.
In the Live Presentation Corner, the company demonstrates shooting, acquisition and distribution of videos using a remote camera. Visitors also gets to see automatic tracking of a subject with the use of automatic tracking software, which comes with enhanced performance with the upgrade of the deep learning function.
Improved Content Quality, Work Efficiency
In the Live Camera Corner, in addition to the lineup of studio cameras, a variety of shooting solutions for live operation depicting various scenarios are also on display, including the demonstration of 4K wireless transmission through linkage with other companies. Also taking center stage are the company’s VARICAM LT Cine Live and EVA1 Live using film production cameras.
Panasonic’s Film and Program Production Corner highlights VARICAM LT ver. 8.0 and EVA ver. 3.0 that feature further improved performance through firmware upgrade. Visitors get the chance to witness images taken using Panasonic’s cinema cameras in Dual Native ISO, which is the company’s strength, in a dark room.
In the Hands-On Corner, the AU-EVA1 and AG-CX350 cameras are on display for visitors to try and operate the cameras and check on the image quality.
In the P2 Corner, new work style Innovations, such as new cloud editing solution, and streaming and file-base hybrid solution, are also made available.
Panasonic will contribute to the improvements of content quality and work efficiency at the broadcast and film production sites by offering diverse solutions that meet professional needs.

Panasonic solutions on display at the company’s NAB Show 2019 booth include the VARICAM cinema camera recorders, AU-EVA1 compact cinema camera, LUMIX DC-S1/GH5S mirrorless camera, AG-CX350 memory card camera recorder, and the AK-UC4000 Series 4K studio cameras. Also available at the event are the NDI|HX-compatible remote cameras, AV-HLC100 NDI-compatible live production center, and P2 workflow for broadcast stations. Available as reference products are the 8K Region of Interest (ROI) camera system and the Live Production Suite (LPS).
