Panasonic Connect Announces
4K Integrated Camera AW-UE4WG/KG
Obtains Zoom Certification

Tokyo, Japan – Panasonic Connect Co., Ltd. today announced the 4K Integrated Camera AW-UE4WG/KG obtained the Zoom certification.
Digital transformation (DX) is accelerating amid the COVID-19 pandemic, creating an increasing need for a hybrid communication method that combines online and offline connections. However, there are some issues pertaining to video equipment and communications, such as difficulty to see the facial expressions of participants and lack of true-to-life ambience, so they often lower the participants’ willingness to participate as well as their satisfaction. Against this backdrop, the need for realizing a higher video communication quality for online conferences and classes is growing in the business and educational fields.

The AW-UE4WG/KG featuring professional video technology has recently acquired the Zoom certification. The remote camera now allows for easy and comfortable video communications when combined with an application.
The AW-UE4WG/KG is a PTZ camera which boasts superb video technology backed by more than 60 years of experience in developing professional broadcast equipment. It is equipped with functions that maximize that technology for video communications.

The AW-UE4WG/KG is mounted with a 1/2.5-type MOS sensor and permits shooting under a low light condition of 4lx. The maximum 4x digital zoom and digital pan/tilt can be utilized to show easy-to-see images of the speaker and specific documents. Being a manufacturer of broadcasting equipment, Panasonic has achieved high-resolution images to clearly display the facial expressions of participants. Furthermore, the newly added mode (Priority Mode: USB (Video Conference)) automatically adjusts the remote camera to the appropriate condition when zoom is used.

The ultra-wide-angle lens has a 111° horizontal angle of view, which is suitable for video communications. If the room is small-to-medium-sized, the AW-UE4WG/KG captures the entire conference room or classroom as well as the faces of all participants. The AW-UE4WG/KG has a built-in microphone and records sounds clearly in high quality without having to connect an external microphone. The camera can be suspended from the ceiling. The AW-UE4WG/KG allows flexible setup in any room or environment.
When the free software, Virtual USB Driver, is used, the AW-UE4WG/KG can be set up using a LAN cable if the USB cable does not reach.
What’s more, since the AW-UE4WG/KG is now a Zoom Rooms certified hardware, it can be combined with other Zoom Rooms certified hardware such as a microphone and display device to configure a more seamless online videoconferencing environment.

Panasonic’s AW-UE4WG/KG with high-resolution video technology, coupled with the Zoom application, will resolve the long-standing issues of office workers and people in the educational field, such as poor video image quality in over-the-web meetings and online classes.
