NDI I/F Unit for Live Switcher AV-UHS500, featuring NDI® support and IP transmission via NDI® and NDI®|HX
- NDI®*1 and NDI®|HX*1 signals can be input directly from cameras to the AV-UHS500 using a single LAN cable.
- NDI®*1 signals enable the AV-UHS500 to be connected to a streaming PC using a single LAN cable.
- Hardware processing enables the construction of highly-reliable IP systems.
- Remote live production that supports video transmission and camera control can be achieved when used in a system with Panasonic cameras*2 with NDI®*1 and NDI®|HX*1 support.
- *1: In this instance, NDI® is used to indicate low latency with high bandwidth NDI®, NDI®|HX is used to indicate high efficiency low bandwidth NDI®|HX. NDI® is a new protocol developed by NewTek, Inc. that supports IP video production workflow. NDI® is a registered trademark of NewTek, Inc. in the United States and other countries.

High-quality remote live production through NDI® and NDI®|HX
With this NDI I/F Unit attached, the Live Switcher AV-UHS500 supports input and output via the high quality, low latency video transmission of NDI®* and the stable, low bit rate transmission of NDI®|HX*. This enables the construction of IP streaming systems covering operations from video transmission to camera control using a single LAN cable and supports remote live video production at sports and other event venues.
- * In this instance, NDI® is used to indicate low latency with high bandwidth NDI®, NDI®|HX is used to indicate high efficiency low bandwidth NDI®|HX. NDI® is a new protocol developed by NewTek, Inc. that supports IP video production workflow. NDI® is a registered trademark of NewTek, Inc. in the United States and other countries.

NDI®* and NDI®|HX* support
NDI®* and NDI®|HX* signals can be input directly from cameras to the AV-UHS500 with a single LAN cable. With NDI®*, the AV-UHS500 can be connected to a streaming PC with a single LAN cable. Up to two units can be fitted to a single AV-UHS500.
- NDI®
- : Maximum 4 inputs (in HD mode), 2 outputs (in HD mode)
- : Maximum 1 input (in 4K mode), 1 output (in 4K mode)
NDI®|HX: Maximum 2 inputs (in HD mode)
- * NDI®|HX version 2 is also supported. NDI®|HX is only supported for input and is only supported in HD mode.
Connection with a single LAN cable
Two LAN terminals (1 Gb each) secure a maximum bandwidth of 2 GB.
Frame Synchronizer for All Inputs
All input channels feature a built-in frame synchronizer. The Genlock function also supports synchronizing systems based on external sync signals (Black burst or Tri-level).
Remote live production
When used in combination with Panasonic cameras*1 that support NDI®*2 or NDI®|HX*2, operations from video transmission to camera control and tally output can be performed using a single LAN cable. By supporting camera operation in addition to video transmission, this unit enables remote live video production.
