Using the streaming function

After you finish configuring the network connection, you can configure the streaming function.

The streaming function can also be set in [OPTION MENU] → [NETWORK MODE] → [STREAMING MODE].

Select [STREAMING] in the main menu → [REC/PB] → [DUAL CODEC SETUP] → [CODEC USAGE].

Streaming function is enabled.

Set the streaming mode in the main menu → [REC/PB] → [DUAL CODEC SETUP] → [STREAMING MODE].

Select either [LOW], [HQ], [AVC-G6], [SHQ (QoS)], or [AVC-G (QoS)].
For details on combinations of system modes and streaming modes, refer to the table in “List of system modes and supported streaming output”.

Set the method for starting streaming.

When starting streaming through operation from an application software
- Select [RECEIVER] in the main menu → [I/F SETUP] → [USB/LAN] → [STREAMING SETTING] → [START TRIGGER].
When starting streaming through operation from the camera
- Select [CAMERA] in the main menu → [I/F SETUP] → [USB/LAN] → [STREAMING SETTING] → [START TRIGGER].
- Perform following setting when the streaming mode is set to [SHQ (QoS)] or [AVC-G (QoS)] in Step 2.
  Set the main menu → [REC/PB] → [DUAL CODEC SETUP] → [QoS MAX RATE] and [QoS MIN RATE].
- Set the delay mode during live streaming in the main menu → [REC/PB] → [DUAL CODEC SETUP] → [STREAMING LATENCY]. Set to [NORMAL] if you want to emphasize the stability of streaming. Set to [SHORT] if you want to emphasize the reduction of streaming delay.

Start streaming.

When starting streaming through operation from an application software
If you started streaming using an application software, the camera starts the transmission of streaming video.
When starting streaming through operation from the camera
Select [ON] in the main menu → [I/F SETUP] → [USB/LAN] → [STREAMING SETTING] → [START].
If the camera is connected to the transmission destination through a network, start the transmission of streaming video.
To stop the transmission of streaming video, select [OFF] in the main menu → [I/F SETUP] → [USB/LAN] → [STREAMING SETTING] → [START].
The streaming video distribution can be started or stopped by the <USER> button by assigning [STREAMING START] to the <USER> button using the main menu → [CAMERA] → [USER SW].

NOTE

To display streaming video using the P2 Browser, VLC Media Player is required for Windows OS and QuickTime Player is required for Mac OS.
However, the P2 Browser does not support the QoS function.

The streaming function cannot be used together with the dual codec recording and simultaneous recording.
The streaming function cannot be used together with the rec during upload function.
If availabe bandwidth of the network is low and streaming playback is interrupted, this can be improved by selecting a lower bitrate mode in [STREAMING MODE], or selecting either [SHQ (QoS)] or [AVC-G (QoS)]. In addition, if [SHQ (QoS)] or [AVC-G (QoS)] is selected, the terminal that receives streaming data needs to support the QoS function.
The streaming distribution video from the camera will be a black screen in the playback mode (including the recording check).
