[SYSTEM]

These items are used for checking and updating the camera’s firmware version.

Set the system frequency, the number of lines, and recording format.

[LINE&FREQ]

Sets the system number of lines and frequency, recording format, and audio quantizing bit quantity. When the number of lines and frequency are selected, only the items that can be selected for those frequencies are displayed. If the frequency is changed, the device must be restarted. If a restart is required, a confirmation dialog will be shown.

[1080-59.94P]: Selects the number of lines 1080P and system frequency 59.94 Hz.

[1080-50P]: Selects the number of lines 1080P and system frequency 50 Hz.

[1080-59.94i]: Selects the number of lines 1080i and system frequency 59.94 Hz.

[1080-50i]: Selects the number of lines 1080i and system frequency 50 Hz.

[1080-23.98PsF]: Selects the number of lines 1080P and system frequency 23.98 Hz.

[720-59.94P]: Selects the number of lines 720P and system frequency 59.94 Hz.

[720-50P]: Selects the number of lines 720P and system frequency 50 Hz.

[480-59.94i]: Selects the number of lines 480i and system frequency 59.94 Hz.

[576-50i]: Selects the number of lines 576i and system frequency 50 Hz.

  • Factory setting: [1080-59.94i]

The setting values are saved together with the settings of [REC FORMAT] and [AUDIO SMPL RES] on each setting of [LINE&FREQ]. When the settings of [LINE&FREQ] are restored to the previous settings, these items are reset to the previous settings at the time.

[REC FORMAT]

Selects the codec for recording and the mode for shooting and recording.

The AVC-LongG format cannot be selected in the following cases:

  • When the main menu → [REC/PB] → [REC FUNCTION] → [RECORDING] is set to [INTERVAL] or [ONE SHOT].

Types of available codecs vary depending on the setting of [LINE&FREQ]. For details, refer to “Multi formats”.

[AUDIO SMPL RES]

If the recording format is AVC-Intra 100/AVC-Intra 50, selects number of the audio recording quantizing bits.

[16BIT]: 16-bit is the audio recording bit quantity.

[24BIT]: 24-bit is the audio recording bit quantity.

  • Factory setting: [16BIT]

When the recording format is AVC-LongG 50 or AVC-LongG 25, select [24BIT]. When the recording format is DVCPRO HD, DVCPRO50, DVCPRO, or DV, select [16BIT].

Clips recorded at 24-bit should be played back using a 24-bit compatible P2 device or P2 Viewer Plus. The clip numbers of P2 devices that are not 24-bit compatible are displayed in red and cannot be used for playback. Audio does not play back correctly on a P2 Viewer that is not 24-bit compatible. Always use the latest P2 Viewer Plus version.

[REC SIGNAL]

Switches the video input signal.

[CAM]: Records signals from the camera.

[SDI]: Records input from the <SDI IN> terminal.

  • Factory setting: [CAM]

Once the power is turned off, it is always set to [CAM] the next time power is turned on.

[ASPECT]

Selects the aspect ratio to record. (Only in SD)

[16:9]: Records using the 16:9 aspect ratio.

[4:3]: Records using the 4:3 aspect ratio.

  • Factory setting: [16:9]

[SCAN REVERSE]

Sets whether to use function to correct video when using an anamorphic lens or film lens.

[ON]: Corrects video. Inverts the top, bottom, left and right sides of a video.

[OFF]: Does not correct video.

  • Factory setting: [OFF]

[COMPRESSION MODE]

Selects how to compress video when recording.

[NORMAL]: Records in standard compression mode.

[DARK]: Records by reducing image distortions caused by compression generated in portions of approx. 10IRE (70 mV) or darker.

  • Factory setting: [NORMAL]

This setting is enabled when recording in DVCPRO HD 720P mode.

[SYSTEM SETUP]

[SETUP(7.5%)]

Switches the setup.

[ON]: Setup 7.5% is on.

[OFF]: Setup 7.5% is off.

  • Factory setting: [ON]

[GPS]

Sets the GPS.

Acquired position information is recorded in the shooting location of the metadata. The position information is not recorded in the metadata if the position information cannot be acquired.

[INTERNAL]: Activates the built-in GPS. The signal of the position information is output to the <SDI OUT1> terminal and the <SDI OUT2> terminal.

[EXTERNAL]: Acquires the position information from the external device connected to the camera via network.

[OFF]: Does not activate the GPS. Does not output and record the location information.

  • Factory setting: [OFF]

[P.OFF GPS DATA]

Selects whether to retain the GPS location information when the camera is turned off and to record the retained data when the camera is turned on next time until a new positioning is performed.

[HOLD]: Retains and records data.

[CLEAR]: Clears the data at the time when the camera is turned off. Records 0 (No-Info) when the camera is turned on next time until a positioning is performed.

  • Factory setting: [CLEAR]

[HOURS METER]

Displays the total number of times the camera power was turned on.

[VERSION]

[VERSION]

Displays the versions of the camera. Move the cursor right and left to change pages.

[VERSION]: Displays the version (representative version) of all firmware in the camera.

[MODEL NAME]: Displays the product name of the camera.

[SERIAL NO.]: Displays the serial number of the camera.

[NETWORK ID]: Displays the Network ID of the camera.

[UID]: Displays the unique ID of the camera.

Turn the jog dial button (or press the cursor buttons Y/I) to display the list screen for each firmware version.

[UPDATE]

Performs an update of the camera firmware. (Enabled only when there is a dedicated update file on the SD memory card.)
